Top Hoe Contracting is an owner/operator excavation contractor business serving the Lower Mainland BC offering experienced, reliable, and precision-based mini-excavator work for both commercial and residential excavation projects. Our services primarily focus on utility, drainage and foundation excavation.
Nicki Chartrand, the owner and operator, possesses a fundamental understanding of building projects from preconstruction to finishing phase, having started as a skilled laborer and carpenter before moving into the excavation business. With over 10 years of hands on field experience in the construction industry and 6 years of on-site heavy equipment operation across complex civil, deep commercial, and residential excavation projects, we bring skill, safety, and efficiency to every job. Integrity is our core value, and we build business relationships based on trust, delivering exactly what we promise every time.
This company is fully insured under a commercial liability plan and is WorkSafe BC licensed.

- 2017 Bobcat E50 Excavator (comes equipped with heavy duty lifting chains, hooks & straps) (4 hour minimum)
- 2025 5x10 Southland hydraulic dump trailer (1 hour minimum) is ideal for transporting materials during your demolition services
- Spectra precision 360 laser level and tripod for precise grading (no charge) ensures accurate drainage solutions
- Miscellaneous hand tools & power tools; shovels, rakes, sledge hammers, high torque concrete and impact drills, chainsaw, sawzall and more are available
- Wacker Neuson 500lbs plate tamper compactor
- Bobcat S510 skid steer loader as well as smaller compact excavators available as needed (rates negotiable)
